How To Get To Machachi From Quito

Machachi is located about one hour south of Quito in Ecuador’s Avenue of the Volcanoes. It is an excellent base for travelers visiting Cotopaxi National Park and exploring the surrounding Ecuadorian Andes. Getting from Quito to Machachi is relatively easy by bus, taxi, Uber or private car.

If you are staying at Casa del Montañero, you can travel directly to Machachi and avoid returning to Quito between mountain activities. The town offers accommodation, restaurants, supermarkets, ATMs and transportation connections to nearby destinations.

Quito To Machachi By Bus

Taking a bus is the most economical way to travel from Quito to Machachi. Buses to Machachi leave from southern Quito and travel south along the Pan-American Highway.

From Quito, you can take a bus toward Machachi and ask the driver to confirm where to get off in town. The journey usually takes around one hour, depending on traffic and your departure point.

Once you arrive in Machachi, Casa del Montañero is located in the center of town at the corner of 10 de Agosto and Venezuela streets. From the bus area, you can take a short taxi ride or walk if you are traveling with light luggage.

Quito To Machachi By Uber Or Taxi

Getting To Machachi From Quito Airport

If you are arriving at Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito, Machachi is located south of the city. By private vehicle, taxi or ride-hailing service, the journey generally takes longer than traveling from central Quito because the airport is located outside the city.

Driving From Quito To Machachi
