Tour Overview

We begin our adventure at  Casa del Montañero, in Machachi at 8:00 AM and travel along the Avenue of the Volcanoes before continuing east on a scenic stone road toward the northern entrance of Cotopaxi National Park, at approximately 3,600 meters. There, our horses will be ready for a horseback riding experience through the Andean páramo.

Along the route, we visit the spectacular Pita River Canyon, observe landscapes shaped by Cotopaxi’s volcanic activity, and enjoy views of surrounding volcanoes including Cotopaxi, Rumiñahui and Sincholagua. Depending on weather and conditions, there may also be an opportunity to spot the Andean condor.
